University Students Earn Two Gold and Silver Medals at the International Geneva Exhibition for Inventions

King Khalid University students earned two gold and silver medals at the International Geneva Exhibition for Inventions in its 49th edition. The exhibition was held over the span of 5 days and was attended by His Excellency, Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, Prof. Mohammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairi, with more than 1,000 inventions from 50 different countries.

Two university projects earned gold medals, which are the (Traffic safety development using modern technology) project by student (Hasel Mohammad Al-Asmari, College of Education), and the (Natural resources in manufacturing supercapacitors) project by (Naif Ali Al-Qahtani, College of Engineering). 

Two projects earned silver medals, which are the (Magic Eye) project, which uses AI to detect students’ patterns inside a classroom, by students (Shaima’a Mohammad Al-Qarbi, College of Business), (Maram Ouad Al-Qahtani, College of Computer Science), (Shaima’a Al-Asiri, College of Computer Science), and (Rimaz Faisal Al-Ghamdi, College of Computer Science). The second silver medal went to (The Smart Clinical Bed) project, which increases the interactivity of the ICU and helps doctors monitor patients continuously, by student (Ryan Mohammad Al-Qahtani, College of Medicine)

Director of the Entrepreneurship Center at King Khalid University and head of the participating delegation from the university, Dr. Majid Al Aziman, explained that the university showcased its scientific and competitive presence on a global scale. He noted that the university supports all innovative students to raise awareness, enrich entrepreneurship, and highlight their success stories to create new job opportunities.

It is worth noting that the projects received 15 special awards from the countries of Thailand, France, Morocco, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, Korea, Peru, and Latvia.
