University Organizes Freshmen Welcome Ceremony for Scholarship Students for the Year 1444AH

On Wednesday the 2nd of November and under the patronage of His Excellency King
Khalid University President Prof. Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami, the university held a
freshmen welcome ceremony for scholarship students for the academic year 1444AH.
The ceremony was organized by the General Administration for Scholarship Students
and took place at the university auditorium at Al-Qaraa. 

In his speech, His Excellency welcomed the newcomers, wishing them success. He
stressed the university’s keenness to serve scholarship students and provide them
with high quality education, and added, that scholarship students receive great support
and care in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Solami, noted the immense role
scholarship students play in reflecting the true cultural image of Saudi Arabia to their
countries as ambassadors in Saudi and commended them as ambitious citizens who
work to achieve development goals for their home countries.

On his part, the General Supervisor of the General Administration for Scholarship
Students, Prof. Dr. Saeed Al-Shahrani, explained that the number of scholarship
students in the university is an estimate of 2430 students from 73 nationalities, 421 of
whom are newcomers who joined this year. 

During the ceremony, a visual presentation was presented where scholarship students
expressed their joy and pride in studying at King Khalid University and being in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Moreover, a number of students shared their scholarship
experiences in KKU, while a student delivered a poem titled "The Doves Coo in the
Kingdom of Peace". Finally, the ceremony was concluded by honoring participants
and supporting bodies.
