University Launches the Scientific Forum ”Current Challenges and Orientations in Science and Art”

On Tuesday the 25th of October, King Khalid University, represented by the Applied
College in Rijal Alma', launched the scientific forum "Current Challenges and
Orientations in Science and Art", which will be held in a two day period.

His Excellency University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, explained in
his opening speech that what distinguishes this forum from any other, is the students’
participation with discussions of their research papers. He described the forum as an
opportunity for students to find appropriate research support mechanisms in order to
implement them in a way to serve the community. He finally, stressed that the
interaction of researchers, faculty members and experts with students will enhance
students’ skills and help guide them in the right direction. 


On her part, Scientific Forum President, Dean of the College of Arts and Science in
Rijal Alma' and Vice-Dean of the Applied College branch, Dr. Siham Al-Haidar,
explained that the forum aims to provide an appropriate environment for researchers,
create suitable opportunities, allow participants to publish their work in accredited
scientific journals, provide assistance and scientific support, and establish a meeting
point between researchers and local bodies to strengthen partnerships and
communications between the two fronts. 

The number of female student participations in the Group Poster category, Al-Haidar
added, reached 12 posters, each of which is presented by 5 students. In addition, she
explained that 5 main sessions are to be held during the period of two days. It is
noteworthy, that the number of sub-sessions reached 17 sessions, more than 300
people attended the first day and sessions are held in person and online.
