SIMEC 2022 Discusses the Impact of the Pandemic on the Development of Medical Education Mechanisms

King Khalid University, represented by the Saudi Scientific Society for Medical Education, continues the activities of the Saudi  International Medical Education Conference  SIMEC 2022, held on February 15-16.

 

The conference coincides with the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Saudi Society for Medical Education at the university and  aims to discuss research and scientific papers on the areas of developing curricula and plans, education strategies,  teaching methods and techniques, and development programs.

 

During the first day’s sessions, the conference discussed  a number of themes, including assessing the efficiency of education, scheduling curricula according to what suits mental psychology, practicing and applying the best communication skills, in addition to evaluating the competence of doctors in using and activating modern technologies in the learning process, and virtual reality in education.

 

 

The sessions of the second day also discussed several axes represented in the best way to teach the mechanism of maintaining patient safety, the lessons deduced from the Corona pandemic and how to facilitate ways of distance learning. In addition the conference discussed  methods to managing  the medical education system and the obstacles that members may face as well as the importance of  educational mechanisms,  to excellence at the national and global level, academic medical management, interactive medical education, and a vision of medical learning.

 

It is worth noting  that the conference sessions included the participation of a group of international specialists in the fields of medical education who are  to present their experiences and aspirations about the developments of modern technical education mechanisms and their impact on the outcomes of medical education.
