The University to Hold International Conference “Narrative Discourse and the Challenges of the Age” Next September

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Humanities (Department of Arabic Language and Literature), is to  organize the International Scientific Conference "Narrative Discourse and the Challenges of the Age", during the  20-21 Safar 1443 AH , the 27-28 September 2021 AD.

His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Sulami, explained that holding this conference is drawn  from the university’s belief in its academic and research role, and the importance of discussing important scientific and research issues in various disciplines, pointing to the  important impact of discussing important issues in the fields of humanities and  creating scientific  research awareness and enriching  disciplines.

On his part, the Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, said that the university is pleased to hold such a conference, and seeks  to achieve its goals through the participation of a number of researchers in  narrative discourse. Pointing out that there are a series of conferences and scientific symposia that will be held in the  next academic year 1443 AH.

 

The Dean of the College of Human Sciences, Prof. Yahya Al-Sharif, also said that the conference will discuss a number of topics, most notably  the narrative discourse concepts and problems, narrative discourse and modern linguistics, narrative discourse and language levels, discourse and rhetoric of narrative, narrative discourse and poetry, narrative discourse and modern techniques, as well as narrative discourse and the problem of reception.

 

In addition, the head of the  conference scientific committee  Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abu Melha, said that the conference aims to achieve a number of scientific goals, including approaching the term narrative discourse and its working spaces, monitoring the manifestations of narrative discourse in modern linguistics, studying the levels of narrative discourse language, approaching the relationships of narrative discourse and poetry, and studying the interaction of narrative discourse and poetry.
