The University Launched "Marafiq" Arboreta

On Tuesday, the 23th of March 2021, His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Sulami, launched "Marafiq" plant nursery which was built by the General Administration of Facilities at the University Agency.

On this occasion, His Excellency, the University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Sulami, stressed the importance of taking care of the environment, and explained that launching this nursery is part of many programs prepared by the university to celebrate Environment Week.

On his part, the University Vice President, Prof. Mohammed Al Buhairi, stressed that the nursery will be home to many research and scientific projects in the future, adding that the nursery will be developed in a number of stages. Followed by a statement by Mr. Muhamad Al Asmari, General Director of the General Administration of Facilities, who explained that the nursery will provide plants and flowers for the university buildings, treat damaged plants, reuse them, and spend less money on everything related to agriculture, afforestation and water consumption.

Al Asmari, thanked His Excellency the University President for supporting everything that benefits the University, he also thanked the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture for organizing and establishing this nursery.

Of note, launching the nursery is part of many initiatives presented by the University Agency to achieve institutional excellence, digital transformation and budget efficiency. 8 initiatives of which were launched last week.
