Technical Horizon and Entrepreneurship Forum Concludes

The 'Technical Horizons & Entrepreneurship Forum' ended on the 9th of Jumādá Al-Ākhirah. The forum was a joint venture between King Khalid University's Talent, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Center and the Saudi Technical Amateur Committee. The purpose of the forum was to educate and encourage women to enter computer science related fields and to educate them about entrepreneurship.

 

After three days of intensive activity, the forum concluded with a variety of workshops designed for students, educators, and educational institution administrators. Examples of the workshops include:

 

  • 'Computer Maintenance' by Hajar Yazidi; a discussion of the basic components and function of computers;
  • 'Developing and Sponsoring Small/Medium Enterprises' by Mashaal Al-Asiemi; a presentation on business incubators and their role in female entrepreneurship;
  • 'Electronic Testing and Question Banks' by Manal Al-Muzaini; a discussion of test question development and implementation;
  • 'Design Thinking & Entrepreneurship' by Dr. Haifa Al-Dailan; an outline of advanced design objectives and methodologies in large scale scientific, engineering and social development projects;
  • 'Technical Skills in the Workplace' by Mrs. Amjad Al-Rayza; a discussion of workplace IT policies and information security systems;
  • 'The Role of Incubators in Emerging Projects' by Dr. Latifa Al-Sunaidi; a review of the risks and opportunities in business incubators;
  • 'Financing Emerging Projects' and 'Emerging Enterprise Business Planning'; by Basma Al-Saidi and Zahra Masoud; discussions about capitalizing small and emerging enterprises and business planning.

 

All of the forum events were well attended. The participants enthusiastically anticipate additional programs in the same genre to support female technology entrepreneurs.
