Information Technology Concludes Global Game Jam

King Khalid University, represented by the General Administration of Information Technology, in cooperation with the Digital Games Association, concluded the largest event in the world in the development of electronic games, Global Game Jam 2022, in which more than 40,000 developers from more than 100 countries around the world participate to build more than 10,000 games.

 

The General Supervisor of the General Administration of Information Technology, Dr. Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Sager, explained that the participation of the university’s male and female students in this event  that highlights the talents of the university’s students and their ability to develop high-quality electronic games in a fixed time.

 

 

Al-Sager added, that King Khalid University, represented by the General Administration of Information Technology, is the first university to host this global event in 2020, and this successful experience has been transferred to  Saudi universities around  the Kingdom,  making them 8 participating Saudi universities , which demonstrates  the impact  universities have  in supporting national talents, and their eagerness  investment of human minds.

 

On her part, the Assistant General Supervisor of the General Administration of Information Technology, Dr. Ebtisam Al-Qahtani, explained that the number of male and female students  participating  this year’s  event amounted to more than 100 where 25 students were nominated and divided into 4 groups.  She added, that the four teams developed  4 complete electronic games within 72  hours, where each team presents the game they developed before a jury, to choose the best distinguished projects.

 

It worth noting that the Future Game Makers team, won first place ,  the 6_Deve team came in the second place, followed by  the Arrow Team in  the third place.
