Dr. Al Jelban: The 30th of January will be the deadline to receive research resumes.

King Khalid University, Abha is ready to arrange Nursing Conference in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the title" Sciences and profession, Challenges and solutions" from 10 to 11/5/1435 AH. The conference will focus on some pillars including university Nursing education through identifying problems that encounter Nursing as a profession inside government and private health sectors in addition to recognizing what’s new in the field of Nursing.

An elite group will participate in the conference; academic speakers from Saudi universities, specialists in different health sectors inside the Kingdom in addition to a number of international speakers from USA, Australia, Bahrain, Jordan and Egypt.

The University Vice President Assistant and the Chairman of the committee organizing the conference Dr. Khalid Al Jelban emphasized that arranging such conference comes as a result of what the Kingdom is witnessing now of great leaps in health services field and in the same time as an acknowledgment of the role it should take in the field of scientific research support. 

Dr. Al Gelban added that the organization committee determined the 30th of January 2014 to be the deadline to receive research resumes and the conference will grant 22 accredited hours of continuing medical education. He also invite all who concern to attend and take part in the conference.

Under the patronage of His Excellency Higher Education Minister Dr. Khalid Al-Ankari and with the presence of His Excellency King Khalid University President, Dr. Abdul Al-Rahman Bin Hamid Al-Dawood , King Khalid University recently signed an agreement with the National Centre for Measurement and assessment in Higher Education to establish a permanent center for computer tests at King Khalid University.

Dr. Abdul latif Al-Hodathi, The Dean of Research and Consulting Studies Institute at King Khalid University clarified that this agreement aims to make it easier for the students benefiting the tests that are arranged by the National Centre for Measurement and assessment through establishing a constant and permanent center which will be ready for all levels and is expected to meet the students’ needs. 

The University President, Professor Abdulrahman Bin Hamid Al-Dawood approved the 2nd report of promotion for the financial year 1434/1435AH

This was declared by the Vice President of Teaching Staff and Employees Affairs Dr. Hussein Bin Mohammed Al Obeid, the President of promotions Permanent Committee clarifying that resolutions regarding 64 employees(male and female) were issued.

King Khalid University, represented by Talent and Creativity Center, is taking part in " Innovation Exhibition 2013AD" which is organized by King Abdu Al Aziz and His Men Institute for talent and Creativity under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Al Aziz .

The University had a special corner in which it presented more than 30 unique inventions for a number of university teachers, students, and employees which got admire from all visitors and participants. Also, the members of the University delegation attended many meetings, lectures, and workshops accompanied with the exhibition to develop the potentialities of the center  to support talented and inventors in the university besides support inventions and entrepreneurship.

The Head of the university delegation participating in the exhibition and the President of Talent and Creativity Center, Dr.Dhafer Bin Saed Al Hamad thanked the University President, Professor Abdulraman Bin Hamid Al-Dawood for all his support to the center and its activities and for his interest to put the university in the first positions in distinctive national and international celebrations resulted in developing the university with its employees and a pioneering role in the field of cognitive creativity.




With the ongoing support and encouragement received from King Khalid University rector and the direct supervision of vice rector for development and quality, the Academic Development and Quality Deanship concluded the first term training activities, which included (11) events attended by about (1262) faculty members and students. Dr. Omar Agail dean of the Academic Development and Quality Deanship declared that this year training sessions were significant due to the fact that they were not all held in the university main campus but went out to the university regional branches, where parallel five workshops were presented by the deanship consultants.


   Dr. Omar Agail also added that the deanship activated cooperation with other university deanships and units to achieve the university objective of developing employees' cognitive and professional abilities, as the Students’ Gaudiness Center with the cooperation of the Academic Development and Quality Deanship organized an event. He also mentioned that the benefits of these trainings and events were not just limited to the university employees, as some employees from both Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and the Directorate of Public Education in Asir attended these events as a gesture of community service and spreading quality awareness on behalf of the Academic Development and Quality Deanship and King Khalid University .


 Dr. Omar Agail assured that the Academic Development and Quality deanship will do more efforts to achieve the deanship’s goals in the future with the support of the university leaders and effective participation from employees. The Academic Development and Quality Deanship is preparing the training sessions of next term for the academic year 1434-1435AH. These events will consist of training sessions on the university level and the national and international level and will be announced later on promising that future sessions will be unique and worthwhile .


Finally, Dr. Omar thanked the efforts of all people in the deanship that contributed to the success of these workshops, specially Dr. Abdulaziz Alhajri, vice dean for development. 

King Khalid University President and the Vice Chairman for the University Council, Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Hamid aldawood headed the 3rd meeting of the University Council for the year 1434/1435AH. HE started the meeting presenting condolences to the Council for the death of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohamed Alshahrani, a member of the teaching staff of Sharia and Religion Fundamentals College praying to Allah to settle him in paradise. HE also welcomed Student Affairs Dean, Dr. Muria Alhabash and Community Service Dean, Dr.Mubarak Hemdan who both have joined the council recently.

After that, the Secretary of the Council, Dr. Hamood abu Zheir clarified the scheduled topics. The council discussed three study plans for Master degree for its both paths, syllabus and dissertation path and Syllabus path. The Council approved Master two plans, syllabus system for the major of Quran and its Sciences at Sharia and Religion Fundamentals College and the plan of Geography at Humanities College. Also, the Council approved the study plan of Quran and its Sciences by the Syllabus and Dissertation System.

Concerning student affairs, the council approved re enrolling and granting extra chances for the students, male and female , in Master programs to complete their study plan, in addition to accepting two Afghani students to get their Bachelor degree from the university.

The University Council approved adding five members from teaching staff to Community College and Education College Councils in the University branch in Bisha for the academic year 

King Khalid University, represented by Library Affairs Deanship, ended its participation in the 32nd  round for in Istanbul International Book Fair which was inaugurated on last Saturday with a participation of about 600 sides from 21 country.

Library Affairs Dean at King Khalid University, Dr. Saed Bin Kasem Alkhaldi clarified that the university corner in the fair presented number of its publications out of books, dissertations, and researches, in addition to booklets and brochures in order to display a part of its scientific production and to enable the fair visitors to form an idea about the university and the role it plays. 

HE King Khalid University President, Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Hamid Aldawood, the University Council, and a big number of the university employees  present condolences to Sheikh Alshahrani’s relatives. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Muhammed Alshahrani was a member in the teaching staff and a director of the Abha Cooperative Center for Da’wah and Guidance for Communities, who died of an accident.

Dr. Aldawood explained that Dr. Alshahrany;s death is a big loss for King Khalid University and Aseer region in general. He had several successful initiatives which participated in developing da’wah and volunteering deed. We all pray to Allah, the Almighty to settle his soul in eternal paradise and to inspire his relatives patience.

The follow-up visits of quality progress works for the six programs which taking part in developmental evaluation

Deanship of Academic Development and Quality is still exerting its efforts regarding presenting technical support for the 6 programs participating in developmental calendar project in cooperation with the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment and follow the latest developments in self-study resumed to those programs. In the presence of Australian Quality expert Professor Ian, HE Dr. / Marzn Al Shahrani, Deanship Vice President for quality and Dr. / Ayman Abdul Hameed quality Deanship Adviser made an internal review visit yesterday to English language programs at languages ​​and Translation College, Medicine and Surgery at Medicine college , and the rest of the programs will be visited during this week and early next week.

قام معالي مدير جامعة الملك خالد الأستاذ الدكتور عبد الرحمن بن حمد الداود برفقة وكيل الجامعة الأستاذ الدكتور مرعي بن حسين القحطاني ووكيل الجامعة لكليات البنات الأستاذ الدكتور علي بن ناصر شتوي الأسبوع الماضي بزيارة للكلية العلمية للبنات بمقرها الجديد على  طريق الملك عبدالله بأبها.

 وتأتي الزيارة في إطار سعي الجامعة الحثيث على تهيئة البيئة الأكاديمية المناسبة للطلاب والطالبات ومنها المباني التي أنشأتها الجامعة والوقوف على اخر التجهيزات اللازمة استعداد للانتقال في أقرب وقت ممكن.

وقام معاليه أثناء الزيارة بجولة داخل المبنى شملت الساحات الخارجية ومباني الخدمات ، كما اطلع على معامل الفيزياء والكيمياء والأحياء و معامل التعلم الإلكتروني واللغة الإنجليزية والحاسب الآلي.

بعدها استمع الى شرح مفصل عن ما تم انجازه وما تحتاجه المعامل من تجهيزات، كما قام الداود بجولة على القاعات الدراسية والمبنى الإداري الذي يضم مكاتب العميدة والوكيلات وموظفات الكلية ثم عقد مدير الجامعة اجتماعاً مع وكلاء الجامعة والعمادات والإدارات ذات العلاقة لبحث توفير كل الإمكانيات اللازمة .

من جهته أكد الدكتور الداود على حرص الجامعة لتوفير كافة السبل لتهيئة الأجواء التعليمية المناسبة للجميع وقال" ما نتمتع به من دعم سخي من قبل حكومة خادم الحرمين الشريفين وولي عهدة ،ولنائب الثاني حفظهم الله يجعلنا نحرص كل الحرص على انجاز المشاريع التي تخدم طلابنا وطالباتنا " وأضاف" دعم ومتابعة أمير منطقة عسير الأمير فيصل بن خالد له دور رئيسي في تقدم ونمو الجامعة في كافة المجالات التعليمية والبحثية والخدمات الإجتماعية" .
