King Khalid University, in its try to lessen the natural fear resulting from examinations, launches a unique experiment to help students perform their exams without paper. King Khalid University, represented by the e-Learning Deanship substituted paper by IPad devices to help hundreds of students in their exams. During the first semester of the current study year 1437-1438 AH, 2760 exams were carried out for a number of subjects in all the colleges of the University. 10450 students did these exams.

Within the University pursuit to take advantage of the modern technology to develop and facilitate the educational process, the University has been the first worldwide in using IPad devices in examinations since 2010 AD. The experiment of using IPads in examinations was successfully applied first in Medicine College and it was a step that was alternative to the traditional exams. At this time, exams were performed easily in classrooms, not in computer labs as usual. The new experiment was received by admiration and satisfaction and it was considered a distinguished leap in using technology in the educational process. This experiment also has created a different kind of education which is enjoyable. After that, the experiment was publicized on the University's other colleges.

The student at the first year at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Mathematics major at King Khalid University, Mahayl Asir, Hanan Ahmed Mohammed Albargi managed to invent a new way to simplify the calculations in maths, especially the multiplication.

She explained that when she started the Secondary school (courses system), we have to write a research at each grade, and at one level, the title of my research for Mathematics was "Simplify the Calculations," and specifically the multiplication. When I started searching for this topic, looking for all used ways for multiplication, I found, after reconciling God, a new way to multiply the normal numbers.

Albargi confirmed that she displayed this method on two members of the faculty at King Khaled University, who told her that it is a new and innovative way. The student is the first to reach this method, as it is unprecedented.

She said, "Since that time, I decided to test the success rate of the innovative way, compared to the traditional way. So, I went to the school" Elhako ", Girls Primary school, and choose a group aged 11 to 12 years to test them in multiplications by using the new and traditional method. The result was stunning after correcting test papers, the results were as follows:

The success rate of the traditional way is 52%, while the success rate of my innovative way reached 98%. Thus, the innovative method has facilitated solution to the students. "

She added, "Regarding the time, it reduced from 90% in the traditional way to 20% in the innovative one. Thus, the new method facilitated solution and reduced the time it takes to resolve.

She noted that she faced a lot of challenges and difficulties, but when she armed with God first and then the determination, she managed to overcome all those obstacles. She said, "In the first secondary grade, I couldn't obtain good marks in the Math exam. So, I went to the teacher, and asked her to increase my marks and in return, I was ready to do what she wanted. But, she replied ironically saying if you want to improve your marks, you have to invent a theory. Since then, I felt strange challenge led me, after the grace of God, to achieve the invention of a new way to simplify calculations.

Albargi thanked God first then her parents, and all who gave her a hand from King Khalid University, which provided needed support. She said, "I thank the Head of the Department, Prof. Fatima Abbas, Dr. Sedeek Zakaria, and Dr. Ahmedou weld Ahmed."

She added, "What honored me is the support and honor of the President of the University, Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Dawoud, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Merae Al-Habash, as well as the Director of the Elementary school and its respected teachers, who enabled me to apply the innovative way on the students.

AlBargi advised all who feels she got talent, to strive to develop it, and to put in mind that impossible isn't existed. When a human believes in his goal and moved away from the disincentives, trying again and never leaving space for failure and despair, God willing, she will reach his goal.

It is worth mentioning that Albargi obtained two medals, bronze, and gold. She also won the ninth place in the Fifth Scientific Conference in Riyadh on the level of the Kingdom. She  obtained more than 50 certificate of appreciation, and 3 shields to the extent that she is called, "the Little Algorithm ", by virtue of her research, which was entitled " Easier Algorithm".

Nowadays exams are proceeded and it is normal to students to be indulged in studying and revising. The students' families try to help and stand next to their children to overcome exams successfully and gain the highest score.

Prayers and Anticipation

Thousands of families are waiting for the results of exams of their children. Every family tries to provide their children with the proper environment to make their achievement and pick the fruit of being tired throughout the year. Exams are usually accompanied by a lot of stress, distress and search for the way that ensure success and excellence. Because the testing period is a short time, many of the students double their efforts during the year in studying. Tests period is accompanied by many positive and negative characteristics. Educators and psychologists warn of resorting to stimulants during this period, because they result in "difficulties in concentration, the dispersion of mind and perhaps insomnia continues beyond the period of the tests".

The positive role of the family

The preparations of families for the season of final exams have become a scary obsession for students and their parents, especially students at the Secondary Grade. Educators confirm that it is necessary to manage time efficiently, organize study time and take a break, as well as sleeping and eating well. The family should take on its shoulders managing time and create the appropriate atmosphere for the examiner to study and revise well without being subjected to psychological pressure and the feeling of fear, anxiety and dread of exams.

A lot of students have a problem in retreating what they have studied as soon as they enter the exam room, or start reading the questions. They are distracted by many questions during the days of revision, and they feel much of symptoms before the exams, such as feeling bored of textbooks and lacking the desire to study anymore, in addition to suffering anxiety, drowsiness and loss, so the student has to escape from studying to watch TV programs or talk on the phone, or overeating because he feels that all information, inside his mind, may evaporate into the air, and feels that his mind couldn't receive anymore information.

The difficulty of studying

Many of psychiatrists and social workers presented some tips to ease the stress and anxiety that haunt the student during studying. They think that if the student accumulates his lessons and doesn't divide his time in studying since the beginning of the school year, he will face difficulty in studying those lessons during exams. Some of the students intensify studying till the late hours in a few days that precede exams, and this causes them tiredness and insomnia, due to the random studying. Therefore, the student will not benefit this kind of studying, which leads to lack of focus and consequently lower marks, despite of his major effort.

Attainment Measures

The exams are nothing but collection of what has been studied, and the scale of what the student has attained throughout the entire semester. The student should stay away from the psychological stress, accumulating lessons, and he should study what he learns in the classroom at first hand at home, so it will be easy for him to revise his lessons during exams period. There is no doubt that if he doesn't do this, he will suffer tiredness, especially when trying to study in lost time, where they will be unable to learn and remember the material in their hands, and it affects negatively on their health when he will suffer depression, despair and feeling of fear of exams, and lack of confidence in their abilities.

Take responsibility

The tests are so a prominent period in a human life, and a way to teach the student to take responsibility. The youth actions, which they do at home, school and street usually appear in the exams, and the follower of the status of young people during testing finds a big retreat in taking the responsibility of exams and  facing difficulties.

There are also some models that run away from confrontation by withdrawing or carelessness and the other type depends on cheating to escape from the responsibility. Escape and recklessness is expected results of the period of adolescence, which is characterized by adventure and innovation and the desire to show up, in addition to what is called, in teenagers' language, "Action", which usually appears through humor, circumvent or numb oneself by hopes and wishes.

Incorrect Culture

There is an urgent, educational need to enable the family to accumulate with dealing with its children in the exams period by altering negative perceptions by another positive ones, providing the children with a quiet environment away from family issues, because the children, during exams need to feel reassured by narrating real and positive stories which root confidence and charge the positive energy inside them. In many cases, the adolescent children are prone to drug dealers and placebo.

Selling illusions

We also call on the students, during exams period, not to take any kind of pills; the sedative ones or that make the student awake for late hours hoping to increase the academic achievement. Dealers are usually active during this period to sell illusion to students, convincing them that pills could increase attainment, but unfortunately they are trapped in the nest of addiction.

Drug Dealers wait for the season of exams to trap the students in addiction. They have their own ways to tempt the students such as lessen the prices or sometimes they give it to students for free or change the names of these pills to attract the students.

So, it is a must to let our sons and daughters recognize the seriousness of smoking and drug abuse. We also must create an atmosphere of calmness and confidence inside our homes, especially during exams, careful follow-up to studying and turning to Allah, the Almighty.

Important Tips

Many students ask about how to face the worries of exams, and how to overcome them. Here, we offer a range of tips that, God willing, contribute to the success of the students after Allah's reconciliation.

Before exam:

- Wake up early.

- Finish studying the key elements of a subject.
