His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Asir region and Honorary President of the King Khalid University Endowment Project, met with His Excellency the University Rector, Dr. Falah Al-Solamy, the Secretary-General of the Endowment Inspection Council, the Endowment Secretary-General, Dr. Omar Mushayt, and a number of prominent businessmen from the region at the Royal Administrative Headquarters in Abha.

In the beginning, His Royal Highness welcomed all guests by expressing his sincere appreciation for their support to the Endowment project, which will have a positive impact on the University's research, financial funds, and overall performance.

In his opening remarks, Endowment Secretary-General, Dr. Omar Mushyat, asserted that King Khalid University would be considered among the ten leading endowment institutions in the Kingdom by 2030 through outstanding research, knowledge-based economy initiatives, sustainable growth projects, and international partnerships.

At the end of the meeting, Rector Al-Solamy and the guests expressed their gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness for his continued guidance, support, and genuine care.

The Endowment Inauguration Ceremony will be held on Wednesday at the Main Campus Theater in Abha under the aegis of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz. The heads of all committees involved in the Endowment Inauguration Ceremony reiterated that the initiative being put forth would usher in a new investment era and build a solid financial foundation. Additionally, it will create the conditions necessary for knowledge-based capital investment leading to intangible assets in accord with the 2020 National Transformation Program and Vision 2030.

The Ceremony Committee Chairman, Dr. Nasser Al-Qamishan, said: "If we add this excellent spirit to the mind and hearts of people, which views support of the University's endowment project as an opportunity to earn the reward of Allah, this will provide resources that will greatly help our strategy and goals." Following after, Chairman of the Investment Committee, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Asmari, said: "The project represents an exciting development in the region, in light of the University's unique endowments projects, which offer sustainable community development. It will stimulate the private sector to support and invest in our projects that include but are not limited to health, entrepreneurship, honey research, and education." Echoing earlier statements, Chairman of the Projects Committee, Dr. Salem Alelyani, said: "The University is the largest educational institution in the Southern Region and one of the largest universities in the Kingdom. Our endowment projects come during a time the country is witnessing an economic transition that requires the University to adapt and contribute to the process. We focused on our most salient features: location, environment and wealth."

Public Relations Committee Chairmen, Dr. Abdullah Al-Aideed, said: "Science is the most powerful and supreme language in which the world competes to build civilization. The university is the main source of science and knowledge as a specialized institution. The world is witnessing the success of American universities in the field of educational endowments in leading universities such as Harvard, Yale, and others. We will continue to encourage endowment projects to obtain sustainable sources of funding in accord with all applicable regulations." At the end of the meeting, Chairman of the Media Committee, Dr. Ali Zuhair Al-Qahtani, stressed that the endowment projects give an initial impression that the University has studied this project well enough to be aware of where to start to meet the urgent needs of the region and to provide exceptional employment opportunities. He concluded by urging local businessmen and investors to join the project.

In a public competition, King Khalid University announced vacancies for Saudis. The University has invited those who have the appropriate academic and practical qualifications to apply for these jobs. Registration through the University Portal starts on Sunday 26/4/1436 AH and will last for five days.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Those who do not work in the governmental sector or occupy a lower rank than the qualification they were assigned. Please note, all terms of the announced jobs apply to them.
  • Those who have had previous services in the state or the private sector.
  • The staff of the University who have spent two years in the rank they occupy, except for those who hold a unique position and they have a minimum of academic and practical qualifications as stated in classification guide.
  • The job that the employee would like to compete for must come within the rank already occupied.
  • Those who have sufficient qualifications to occupy the job according to the terms of the declaration are excepted to apply.
  • Those who work in the private sector and have academic qualifications and practical experiences that are approved by the same entity and appropriate for the area of specialization.
  • Those who have previously worked in governmental agencies must clarify in the submitted certification of service the name, job title and rank they used to occupy, the start date and the end date, and the reason for termination of that service. The same applies to the workers of the private sector. All certifications must include all of the details mentioned above
  • Experience certifications must meet the accreditation of the General Organization for Social Insurance or a statement from the mentioned authority that covers the service period.

  • First, an applicant has to attach photos and documents on his device before starting the registration process because the documents are uploaded in PDF format, and the application cannot be completed unless one uploads documents.
