Governor of Asir Visits University

His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Asir Governor, visited King Khalid University on Wednesday. His Royal Highness came to the theater at the main campus in order to meet the university students, faculty and staff. King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy hosted the Governor and presided over the ceremony.

 

His Royal Highness thanked all of those who organized his visit to the university. He also praised the university for all of its efforts including meetings, conferences, events and initiatives that contribute to the progress and development of the region and the Kingdom as directed under Vision 2030. His Royal Highness noted that universities are special institutions that both protect our culture and promote scientific and technical advancement. He told the students that they play a vital part in achieving university objectives. "University students are enormously helpful in moving existing projects forward. Today's students are also the future of the Kingdom, and we are most grateful for their talent and energy," he said.

 

His Royal Highness next provided an update on the new university campus. He stated that the transition of faculty and staff to University City has made substantial progress. Many of the buildings and facilities are either ready or very nearly ready to be used for their intended purposes.

 

His Royal Highness stressed that the new campus will enhance and improve the university's core capabilities, while enabling even more ambitious public service projects for the Asir region.

 

Prior to the end of the visit, His Royal Highness hosted a general question and answer session. The Governor took many questions and addressed many issues raised by students, faculty, and staff. At the conclusion of the meeting, His Royal Highness thanked all of the participants and attendees. His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy thanked HRH Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his time and attention and welcomed him for further visits to King Khalid University.
