Nearly 700 Citizens Benefit from the University Culture and Health Awareness Program in Bariq

King Khalid University continues with its community outreach initiatives in conducting a Culture and Health Awareness program in Bariq. The programs included a variety of workshops and courses for the public. Nearly 700 people participated in the events.

 

Dr. Ahmed Al-Zaydani Asiri presented an overview on school counseling. He provided background on the duties and obligations of school counselors, and discussed counseling as a career path. He then provided a summary of the qualifications and training required for a career in counseling. Dr. Asiri also noted some of the challenges and obstacles counselors in training and professional counselors must face during different stages of education and career development.

 

Dr. Naif Jabali conducted a workshop titled 'Digital Transformation'. He explained in some detail the Saudi national digital transformation program and how it is a critical component of Vision 2030. He further reviewed the transformative effects of technological development and the ways in which these will impact many areas of society.

 

There were a number of other workshops spanning many fields on interest such as:

 

  • 'The Art of Time Management' by Dr. Ayman Has Al-Rasol Hussain;
  • 'e-Commerce: Risks and Opportunities' by Dr. Amaal Kubraj;
  • 'e-Commerce Marketing' by Dr. Heba Abdulqader;
  • 'Diabetes: Prevention, Symptoms & Treatment' by Dr. Eman Abdulqader;
  • 'Technology and Language Learning' by Dr. Siham Al Header and Mrs. Ishragt Mohammad.

 

The program concluded its fourth week with a lecture entitled 'Sahabiyat', which reflected the role of females as taught by the Prophet PBUH, presented by Dr. Fatima Othman. It included a definition of the status of women in society and the role of the females in Islam in the form of custody and child care, science, and medicine.

 

The university plans to once again visit Bariq to continue its community service efforts and further serve the populace with valuable tools and information for daily life.
