"Promoting Integrity Values in the Work Environment" Meeting

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, and  in collaboration with the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority "Nazaha", held a meeting on "Enhancing the Values of Integrity in the Work Environment" on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day. The event took place on  Sunday 10th of December 2023 at the Exhibition and Conference Center in the university campus in Abha.

The meeting, sponsored and attended by His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Solami, aimed at discussing "Promoting Integrity Values and Combating Corruption in the Work Environment" corresponding  with the International Anti-Corruption Day.

Dean of the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, Prof.  Mohammed bin Ali Al-Qarni, emphasized the university's  commitment to participating in such events by shedding light on various research and studies conducted by faculty members in graduate programs. These studies covered aspects related to integrity systems. He stressed  that the college has conducted training courses in this field, consistent with the significant national efforts made by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince in this regard, given its significant impact on the development process.

During the session led by the Vice Dean of the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed Al-Husayni, the Director of the branch of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority "Nazaha" in Bisha, Mr. Saleh Al-Zahrani, reviewed the efforts and goals of the Authority. He discussed its role in safeguarding integrity, promoting transparency, and combating financial and administrative corruption in various forms and methods. He also discussed monitoring the implementation of orders and instructions related to public affairs and citizens' interests to ensure compliance.

Prof. Abdulilah Al-Shahrani, Assistant Professor in the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, explained the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in promoting integrity and combating corruption. He discussed integrity promotion systems, disclosure of conflicts of interest at the Ministry of Education in 1444 H, the Code of Conduct, the regulations governing the conflict of interest policy at King Khalid University, the main causes of violations and corruption crimes, important ways to protect and promote integrity, principles of governance application in government entities, steps to implement governance in public entities and its outcomes, and activating communication channels with beneficiaries and electronic monitoring.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency President of the University, honored the participants and organizers. He also recognized the efforts of the "Nazaha" Club at the Deanship of Student Affairs for their awareness-raising initiatives on achieving integrity values and combating corruption.
