Faculty of Education Takes Part in the Ninth Meeting for the Directors of the Faculties of Education in the Kingdom

Dean of the Faculty of Education at King Khalid University, Director of the Saudi Scientific Teacher Association (GSM), Dr. Abdullah Al-Kasi, attended the 9th meeting for the deans of the faculties of education in Saudi Arabia, which was hosted by the University of Tabuk. The meeting was attended by Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Development and Planning, His Excellency Nayef Al-Jabri, Tabuk University Rector, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mofareh Al-Deyabie, Acting Director of Tabuk Education, Dr. Sultan Al-Enezi, deans of education colleges in Saudi universities, and representatives of Tabuk University.

 

The meeting included a number of scientific sessions. The first session, titled 'Competency-Based Education,' was presented by Dr. Patrick Griffin. Dr. Sandra Milligan followed after, presenting on 'University of Melbourne Experience in Teacher Education Programs'. The third session was delivered by the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Development and Planning, Nayef Al-Jabri. The presentation was titled 'Policies Implemented to Renew Teacher Education Programs'.

 

The second day of the meeting also witnessed three sessions. The first session was delivered by Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdul Malek Al-Kamel. Following after, Dr. Samya bint Naser Al-Mahwos discussed the highlights of the competency-based education program in the Kingdom. The meeting was concluded by a session for the Dean Al-Kasi. Dean Al-Kasi introduced the GSM teacher association, explaining the association's establishment and goals. At the end of the session, Dean Al-Kasi handed the honorary memberships to the deans of the faculties of education.

 

It is worth mentioning that the meeting was held as an opportunity for the exchange of expertise and open discussions in the field of education.
