The Dean of Student Affairs Deanship, Al Adeed, an Icon of Community Work

The Dean of Student Affairs Deanship at King Khalid University, Dr. Abdullah bin Mansour Al Adeed, recently received the King Khalid University Excellence Award for Community Work -individuals category- after achieving the university vision and mission in the field of community service  by providing constructive community service work and by also contributing to the university's strategic plan through enhancing effective cooperation programs in the society of Asir. 

On the topic of community service Al Adeed,  has always stressed that the society needs constructive community services and initiatives, and constant use of the available  potentials to implement initiatives, since the secret of a happy society lies in the generosity and giving of its members. He also activated the concept of community responsibility in the governmental, private and charitable sectors, by voluntarily working with the various non-profit organizations and committees.

Al Adeed, also contributed to the culture of endowments in our society by spreading the concept, where he joined and chaired a number of civil and charitable endowments, and provided consultations and training workshops in the endowments sector, he also worked on organizing and establishing the volunteer work among the university employees and students.

Al Adeed, was previously head of charitable committees and member of several non-profit institutions with in the university and outside of it among them were : the National Committee for Inmates, Released Prisoners and their Families, the Community Responsibility Committee in Asir Chamber of Commerce, the Endowments Committee in Asir Chamber of Commerce, the Cooperative Office, Albr Charitable Association, the Holy Quran Association, the Social Solidarity Center, and many other associations and committees. 

Al Adeed participated in a number of symposiums, meetings, workshops and training workshops related to community work, he also published  different papers about the developmental of voluntary work in and outside the university. He also received a number of prizes, trophies and appreciation certificates, from many entities for his excellence and different contributions towards serving the community. 

It's worth noting that Al Adeed received KKU Excellence Award for Community Work for the second time, he has received the same award once before. He is an icon of community work, and an academic figure that contributed to society in many ways and demonstrated the meaning of giving and generosity.
