University's Active participation in the initiative "Asir: A touristic destination throughout the year".
King Khalid University is participating on the supervisory committee and the executive committees of the initiative "Asir: a touristic destination throughout the year". The Dean of Research and Advisory Studies Institute, Dr. Abdul Latif Ibrahim Al-Hidithi representing the university in this initiative, stressed on the need for such initiatives that promotes tourism activities. He said, "This initiative is sponsored by His Highness the Prince of Asir region, who is also the Chairman of the Tourist development Council, and His Highness the President of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities. They both believe that Asir province has the potential to keep a sort of tourism that is sustainable, and it - Asir province - is able to compete throughout the year. He added, "The preparation of a comprehensive operational plan for the initiative of several axes has recently been completed. The plan worked on providing integrated tourism experience, as well as bridging the gaps and needs, through an active participation of various government departments, the private sectors and the national community."
Alhidithi clarified that the university's participation in the initiative was a proof of His Excellency the University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood's keenness and interest in tourism development. Al-Hidithi reported, "We are organizing a number of exhibitions, events, conferences, seminars, and international and regional forums in addition to participating in the summer events with annual summer programs."
