King Khalid University has recently participated in a workshop entitled "Strengthen Gulf citizenship". The workshop which was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait, was concluded last week. It is noted that holding such workshops helps in promoting the concept of Gulf citizenship by taking advantage of joint programs in higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council. Moreover, higher education institutions are working on increasing the frequency of such workshops and seminars that seek to entrench the concept.

The Dean of Student Affairs of king Khalid University, Dr. Meraa Al-Habash represented the University, and spoke about the academic and student mobility in higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council. During the workshop, Al-habbash mentioned that citizenship among Gulf youth was strong. Yet it needed to be strengthened through activities and events that that would provide enough opportunity for youth to express themselves and their hobbies, besides embracing and appreciating their ideas. Al-Habash thanked God, and appreciated the permanent support given by King Khalid University president, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood. He also pointed out that the Student Affairs Deanship was exerting best efforts to provide the student with the best needed teaching and training facilities. Indeed, those efforts would assist the youth in the future, so that they would be able to build a strong personality, characterized by consciousness and education.
