King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, chaired the university's Ninth Council Meeting. In addition to the regular members (Vice Rectors and Deans), the Secretary-General (Interim) for the Committee of Higher Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, attended. His Excellency began the meeting by thanking Allah for his blessings and praising the Prophet; peace be upon him. Vice Rector of Graduate Studies, Prof. Saad Al-Amri, reviewed the meeting agenda. The topics discussed included:

 

  • The university final financial account;
  • Establishment of the infrastructure for Academic Guidance;
  • Approval of attendance rules and regulations;
  • Faculty participation in the scientific meetings;
  • Rules and regulation for scientific communications;
  • Executive rules regarding promotions;
  • Rules for faculty member publication;
  • Consideration of applications for promotions to the rank of assistant professor;
  • Consideration of new diploma, undergraduate and graduate curricula in the university system.

 

The Council also recommended the approval of a number of new programs including: PhD in Business Administration, Master of Public Health, Executive Master of Applied Computing, Master of Science in Data Science in Information Systems, Master of Educational Policies, Diploma in Cyber ​​Security, Diploma in Prevention of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, Marketing Diploma, and Diploma of Web and Mobile Applications Development.

His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Interim Committee, Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, university vice rectors, and deans were in attendance.

 

Rector Al-Solamy began the occasion by thanking Allah and praising Prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him. Following after, Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Saad Al-Amry, reviewed the meeting agenda. 

 

The topics of discussion included:

 

  • The establishment of the King Khalid University Journal for Historical and Civil Studies;
  • The approval of a Ph.D. program in History at the Faculty of Humanities;
  • The promotion of a number of university staff.

On the 23rd of Rabīʿ Al-Awwal, His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, led the Third University Council Meeting for the 2018 Fall Semester. His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Interim Committee, Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, university vice rectors, and faculty deans were in attendance.

Rector Al-Solamy began the occasion by thanking Allah and praising Prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him. Following after, Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Saad Al-Amry, reviewed the meeting agenda. The topics of discussion included:

  • The approval of the new scholarship admission conditions for foreign students;
  • The approval of a new undergraduate psychology program in the College of Psychology;
  • The approval of a new graduate program in the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion;
  • The establishment of the 'Volunteer Work University Center' to replace the 'Community Service and Partnership Unit';
  • New conditions and requirements for the proposed postgraduate programs to take effect in 1441 AH;
  • The promotion of university employees.

It was noted that this meeting was convened to enhance academic performance in accord with the Kingdom's national programs.

On Wednesday the 29th of Safar, His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, led the second University Council meeting for the 2018 Fall Semester. His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Interim Committee, Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, university vice rectors, and deans were in attendance.

  • The development of new programs in the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion;
  • Renewing the Sunnah Graduate Program;
  • Renewing the Doctrine and Contemporary Schools of Thought Graduate Program;
  • Renewing the Jurisprudence Graduate Program.

The meeting also included the approval of new international scholarship conditions, new training programs for medical city and university employees, the promotion of a number of university staff to higher ranks, and the international summer internship program for university students.

On Wednesday the 23rd of Muharram, His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, held the first university council meeting for the 2018 Fall Semester at the Gregor Campus. His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Interim Committee, Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, university vice rectors, and deans were in attendance.  

During the meeting, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Saad Al-Amry, reviewed the meeting agenda and the topics of discussion. The meeting included the approval of the transfer of the Information Security Research Center into the Information Security and Cybersecurity Center. The meeting also approved the publication of the King Khalid University Journal of Linguistic Studies, the formation of its editorial board, and approval for the restructuring of a number of standing committees.

His Excellency, Rector Al-Solamy, convened the 7th University Council Meeting in the presence of Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, the interim committee secretary-general assigned to higher education supporting programs, university vice rectors, college deans and deans of supporting deanships. Rector Al-Solamy opened the meeting by thanking Allah for his blessings and praising the Prophet -- Peace be Upon Him. Following after, Vice Rector of Postgraduate Studies, Dr.Saad Alamry, presented the meeting's agenda.

Alamry announced that the recommendations included the transition of the Intelligence Unit to an Intelligence Center. He also announced the successful approval of a Ph.D. program in Educational Philosophy in the field of Islamic Education. The recommendations also included a Masters in Business Program in the College of Business Administration and the transition of the General Curriculum Unit to a supporting department. At the end of the meeting, numerous transactional account reviews were completed alongside the approval of faculty members to join the Science and Literature College Council in Dahran Al-Janoub.
