Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education
On the 27th of Rabīʿ Al-Awwal, HRH Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Asir Governor, met with His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, and the first Badir Volunteer Group, in his office regarding the 'We Are All Volunteers Campaign' and other related initiatives. Also in attendance were the Regional Council and numerous government entity directors.
At the beginning of the meeting, HRH Prince Faisal bin Khalid welcomed the guests. After that, Community Service and Continuing Education Dean, Dr. Omar Alwan Ageel, commended the decisive role HRH Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Turkey bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Asir Deputy Governor, hold in supporting the region's and university's sustainable development and growth. Dean Ageel explained that this meeting coincides with International Volunteer Day, which has been globally recognized beginning in the year 1985. He then noted that volunteering to help other individuals, our communities and people in other countries plays a substantial role in leading an exemplary life. Non-profit work, he related, is the best example of civic responsibility.

The dean noted that the university's volunteer work encompasses a wide variety of fields that are cultural, environmental, and social in nature. With community service being one of the university's main priorities, the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education has implemented comprehensive requirements, clear objectives, and established the new Volunteer and Community Service Center to guide all activities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dean Ageel noted that King Khalid University successfully achieved its goals in delivering more than 500 activities to approximately 36,000 citizens all across the region. It is important, he explained, that we recognize the valuable contributions provided by numerous entities and specialists. While it is impossible to individually list all of the activities, most of them focused on:
- Cultural awareness;
- Social responsibility ;
- Lectures in schools and government sectors.
