Research cooperation between KKU and Bern University.

King Khalid University, represented by the Faculty of Dentistry, specifically the "Promising Center" for research and treatments of maxillofacial deformities, has arranged an International cooperation contract on research with the University of Bern, Switzerland. The Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics and Dental Implants who is also the Vice - President of Research Center, and the Head of the research division for Dental Implants researches in the Center, Dr. Mohammed Al-Farsi stated that the research was about introducing a new way to install moving fixtures for patients with full dental loss at the same time of implantation, rather than waiting for three months as was done traditionally. He said, "10 world universities will participate in the research, including the Universities of King Abdul Aziz, King Saud from the Kingdom, and the Universities of Bern and Geneva from Switzerland. The research is going to extend for 5 years."

Al-Farsi praised the efforts exerted by the research Director of the center, and the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shahrani, who created a research environment at the highest level in the center to help researchers accomplish such a research.

On this regard, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shahrani thanked His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Hamad Al dawood, the University President, and Dr. Majid Al Harbi the Vice - President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research for cherishing and supporting the research process at the University. He also thanked  Prof. Sami Abdul Wahab who is the Counselor, and Secretary-General of the Research Excellence Centers Secretariat at the Ministry of Higher Education for his continued support of the center.

In conclusion, Al-Shahrani wished success to the research team, which consisted of the following doctors: Mohamed Al-Farsi, Zahir Cota, Mohsen Abdul Qadir, Saud Al-Qahtani, Huda Lutfi, Heba Al-Qarni.
