A Cooperation Agreement between the University and the Southern Region Armed Forces Hospital
King Khalid University has recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Armed Forces Hospital in the Southern Region. The University Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Saad Dajjam, represented the University while the Armed Forces Hospital was represented by its Director, Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Ghamdi.
The fields of cooperation include the following:
- Technical expert meetings, participation in conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and related activities organized by either party.
- Exchange of information and experience in the field of medical assistance, administrative health, and health services.
- Participation in consultations in research centers and relevant organizations of expertise.
- Initiation of joint studies and submissions of research chairs and scientific excellence in the field of medical services.
- Serving the community, organizing educational programs, and training courses to develop human capital.
- Taking part in preventive programs, health awareness, and early detection of diseases.
- Participation in teaching students of medicine and health specialties.
- Providing research support for postgraduate and graduate research students.
- The exchange of medical and technical personnel in the field of medical treatment and training according to the need and possibilities of the two parties, so as not to affect the work of the parties and any other form of cooperation agreed between them.
In his speech, Dean of Research and Consultations Institute, Dr. Abdul Latif al-Hadithi, asserted that this agreement will be under the umbrella of the agreement between the Ministry of Education and the Medical Services of Armed Forces in a way that raises the level of coordination, partnership, and productivity in service of the Asir region.
Dr. Al-Hadithi added that the agreement aims at increasing the collaborative medical and health productivity between the two parties. This will be achieved through teaching medicine, pharmacy, nursing and medical specialties students in the military hospital. In addition to this, faculty members of health faculties throughout the university will provide critical advisory services needed by the military hospital.
