Souk Okaz (Okaz Market) has wrapped up the Festival of its 10 version at 10:00 pm last Friday. In the activities of the festivak, the King Khalid University (KKU) has participated with an exhibition that was supervised by the talent and creativity center. The exhibition has shown the most prominent innovations made by the university innovators. The stand of the university at the festival received many visitors, and caught the attention of inventions and talents interest. In addition to that, the exhibition has also provided a brief introduction about KKU and its specializations, and on moderlities of how to be admitted into its different branches. Moreover, the public relations Administration has given more than five thousand commemorative gifts to the visitors to the of activities during the duration ofthe festival. The University talented and innovators have stated that the participation and representation of the University in Souk Okaz Festival, which has the utmost importance in the Arab world, was considered a big success for them as well as for the University. The festival has also given them moral support, and has encouraged them to do their best for the development of these innovations, and to work on new innovations that will elevate them and the University They have noted that their innovations were registered in the King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology, and they have achieved a number of awards at the university level and at the Asir region level. Some of these innovations are: Filtering water washing device, which is an innovative water filtration mechanism innovated by the talented, Mazen Al Bassami, the invention project of dual client device, which is a machine working to stabilize the temperature for medical drugs innovated by the talented, Rifa'a Al Shahrani, a project of solar energy chair, which is a wheelchair for people with special needs working on solar-power innovated by the talented, -Abdulaziz Al Qahtani, and a security device to monitor and to prptect homes from theft. This device is innovated by the talented, Salih Al Alma'ai. From his side, the director of talent and creativity center, who is also the supervisor of the university exhibition, Dr. Mohammed Al Maghrabi, has stressed that the participation of the KKU represented by the center, was a clear evidence for the university's support and interest in talents and innovations. Conformingly, the university and the center are making continuous efforts in order to extract the hidden creativity of the university employees and students. They are also working on developing and on sponsoring them to be qualified for various competitions, both locally and internationally, and then to turn them into real projects on the ground. Dr. Al maghrabi added, "The participation of rhe university talented and innovators are considered big support for them to highlight and to refine their talented works too".
