A faculty member and an Assistant Professor at King Khalid University (KKU), Dr. Roqya Al-Tayeb Ali, has recommended teaching statistical analysis (SPSS) as a course in educational institutions, as an essential supporter to the researcher, and as a tool for the development of scientific research. Dr. Al-Tayeb also recommended conducting training programs on the use of the statistical program, in addition to introducing its statistical implications and what it means for the results of research, its themes, and its multiple variables so that the community will benefit from reading the results of the studies. These proposals were included in a study conducted by Dr. Al-Tayeb, and entitled, "Statistical Package role for Social Sciences (SPSS) in the development of scientific research."

Dr. Al-Tayeb introduced the program of (SPSS) as the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, an integrated computer package for data entry and analysis; it is commonly used in all scientific researches, which include many of the digital data. Dr. Al Tayeb said, "The researchers recognize the variables in their studies, and they segregated between these variables in terms of being an independent or dependent ones, and select an appropriate test for statistical analysis, as it has a significant impact on the search results. Furthermore, it is necessary for each researcher to attend a short course in statistical analysis to help him or her to analyze his or her research and reduce costs."

Based on her study, Dr. Al-Tayeb concluded that more than 90% of researchers were using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), and the researcher who was unfamiliar with statistical analysis encounters more costs for his or her research. She also elaborated the role played by the Statistical Package for Social Sciences in the development of scientific research, starting with facilitating research analysis, which contributes to the accuracy of the research and which makes sure its results have been judged on, and ready for generalization.

Regarding the outcomes of the study, first, a researcher's knowledge of statistics enables him or her to avoid shortcomings in the research sample identification and also enables him or her to identify accurately the original community of research, as well as to ensure the stability and sincerity in study tool. All positives will reflect on the quality of research, and confidence in results. Second; statistics is a complementary side of a good research planning. Third; statistical methods suit all types of researches. In addition, a conclusion has been reached that the Statistical Package for Social Sciences plays a big role in facilitating the task of the researcher and increases confidence in the generalized standard of the results. It will reflect positively on the development of scientific research, as well as the sufficient and adequate knowledge in the design of a questionnaire, to formulate appropriate questions which gather accurate and adequate information so as to get research results, which is one of the most important elements of the statistical program (SPSS).
