26, 678 beneficiaries of university health services in the current year

The Vice - Presidency of Health Specialties of King Khalid University (KKU), has recently issued a statistical list which shows the number of doctors, technicians and patients  - Saudis and residents. The list further showed the health services provided by the Vice - Presidency through outpatient clinics at the Medical City for the current year 1436 AH. According to the list, the number of beneficiaries of outpatient services of the university reached 26, 678 beneficiaries, citizens and resident combined. The list also showed that the total number of laboratory examinations conducted were 7294, with a medical cadre consisting of 12 doctor in each of the dental clinics - the general medicine and the internal medicine - as well as 22 Assistant in each of the pharmacy, nursing, medical specialists, as well as medical and health professionals.

For his part, the Vice - President of Medical Specialties who is also the General Manager of the outpatients at the Medical City, Dr. Khaled Aljelban confirmed that "the Medical City at King Khalid University is representing an integrated health system at all levels - primary, secondary, as well as specialized centers of excellence". Aljelban stated that services provided by the Medical City began with the terminals clinics in each academic complex or college, pointed out that clinics were considered the two major tributaries of the health services - one in Abha City and the other is in Tehama branch. Moreover, there are health services available in colleges besides the University Hospital and specialized centers. About the facilities of the University Hospital, which will be held in the University City in Al Farah, Dr. Al jelban explained that the hospital "contains 800 beds with all disciplines, 32 operation rooms, in addition to 240 outpatient clinics and laboratories able to accomplish 3 million medical analysis annually. There are also 60 units for tumors treatment and radiation therapy. These units serve 2000 patients a year. Finally, the University Hospital also includes 40 rooms for examination, in case of emergency".
