A delegation from the King Khalid University Scout, paid a visit to the Headquarters of the Special Emergency Forces in Asir. The visitors were received by the Force Commander, Colonel Abdulrahman bin Saeed Al-Qahtani.

At a meeting during the visit, Colonel Al-Qahtani welcomed the delegation, noting the importance of the visit, as a manifestation of the important role being played by the troops in various fields. Then, the audience watched a visual presentation on the efforts of the forces in fighting terrorism, as well as their permanent participation in the activities of pilgrimage seasons, and their efforts in maintaining security. After that, the delegation was briefed on an exhibit which showed the potentials of the emergency forces, and how they have been trained to fight against terrorism at all levels.

At the end of the visit, a student - Abdullah bin Jewar - presented a poem which was dedicated to the men of emergency forces. Finally, the two sides exchanged souvenirs.

The Deanship of Academic Development and Quality of King Khalid University hosted a delegation from Baha University. The visit was for strengthening cooperation between the deanship and its counterparts in other Saudi universities. The delegation included the Dean of Academic Development and Quality in Al baha University Dr. Ahmed Hamad Al Dulaimi. Others with him were Dr. Bandar Al-Zahrani, and the Director of Administrative Development, Mr. Saeed Ahmed Al-Ghamdi.

The meeting started with an overview of the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality of King Khalid University on the level of achievements in the field of quality activities, in addition to the Developmental calendar project which includes 6 academic programs. Moreover, the attendees reviewed the follow-up to the activities of the units of development and quality of various faculties of the university, and a review of the national bodies which these units mobilize annually in the light of the codified scientific criteria. They also reviewed the external and internal training activities organized by the deanship, as well as the efforts made in the completion of the Strategic Plan of the University. Next, they reviewed the rest of the units of the University, which are currently being implemented in collaboration with Meras consultancy firm. Finally, the Deanship also displayed its experience in implementing the previous rounds of King Khalid University Excellence Award, as well as the professional development program for lecturers and teaching Assistants.

The Vice - Dean of Academic Development and Quality Dr. Saeed Hadi showed the latest achievements of the Deanship and the current efforts in the framework of academic programs and curriculum development, according to the defined criteria  in the guidebook of preparation and development of plans and study programs for the undergraduates at King Khalid University - the criteria was earlier adopted at the University. The Vice - Dean also spoke about the committees that have been formed at colleges, and at academic departments levels, at the faculties of the university so as to make the required adjustments in accordance with the standards adopted in the guidebook, or to propose new programs and courses to be adopted in the light of those standards, and  or to follow those defined procedures to get them reviewed by a main Committee in the deanship.

His Excellency the King Khalid University President, Dr. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood received in his office today, Wednesday 12/1/1436 the governor of Rijal Almaa, Saeed Ali Mubarak, and a number of sheikhs and intellectuals. During the reception, Aldawood expressed his delight with this important visit that reflects the interest of the people of the governorate and their support to the educational process. Aldawood showed the much care the university directs to Rijal Almaa governorate, and he-the President- is aware of its importance and terrain difficulty, which makes it necessary to establish colleges for boys like girls' ones, which the University has established earlier. He said, "I realize well what the governorate needs of colleges like the rest of the provinces. We are looking forward to establishing a university for Tehammah like those in Najran, Jizan and Bisha."

On his turn, Mubarak thanked the University President for the warm reception. Mubarak also was pleased with what he saw of excellence and development, which reflect what the university has reached recently. He said, "Thank you for all interest you gave to us, especially when you established the colleges of girls, which resulted in stability. In the coming days, we are looking forward to establishing colleges for boys too, God willing."

In order to establish cooperation between the two universities,

a delegation from the American University, Arizona visits King Khalid University.


The Vice-President for Health Colleges at King Khalid University, Prof. Khalid Saad Al-Jelban received on 03/06/2014 AD a delegation from the American University, Arizona.

During the meeting, they discussed ways of cooperation between the two universities in the field of Medical Education, and scientific research, as well as curriculum development, and Health Colleges students' international exchange.

During the visit, Al-Jelban clarified that they discussed creating agreements between the two universities, to enable the Lecturers at Health Colleges at King Khalid University to continue the Graduate Studies in the United States, in addition to the processing and development of the University Hospital in the University City, Al-Farah, depending on the delegation's previous experience in university hospitals, and making workshops.

It is noteworthy that the delegation visited the university Health Colleges, and expressed good impression regarding the level of the students, the curriculum and the available potentials to Health College students.

 12 students from the Faculty of Medicine at King Khalid over 60 days Participates in scientific exchange programs held at the University of"Tucson Arizona" in the United States.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University, Prof. Abdullah Asiri clarified that participation comes in its third year to train students in the field of Medicine and to practice practically in the Field in the best American universities. He said, "Students in the Clinical Departments will be distributed at the Clinics of Arizona University to move around operating rooms, the Emergency Department, Hypnosis Clinic in order to be evaluated after that at each stage by the supervisors of the University of Arizona."

Asiri clarified that the Faculty of Medicine at King Khalid signed the International Cooperation Agreement in the field of Medicine with the University of Arizona, which is one of the most prestigious universities, in the field of Medicine, to proceed scientific exchange programs in an initiative locally.

He pointed out that the College of Medicine fought experiment two years ago, and obtained higher assessments to distinguish students in performance while participating in those programs.He indicated that the support and the keenness of the President, Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al Dawoud had a significant impact and spiritual motivation beyond the success of those experiments.

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Human Sciences, hosted 21 student affiliated to the Institute of Oriental Studies at the University of Vienna, Austria. The students were accompanied by the Head of the delegation, the Professor of Arabic Language at the Institute, Dr. Stefan Bouchsta, and four members of the faculty.

Upon its arrival to the Faculty of Humanities, The delegation visited a number of departments. They visited the Department of History, the Department of Arabic. The delegation also visited the University Central Library, and had a look on its divisions, and what it contains of books and ancient manuscripts.

In this regard, the Head of the Austrian delegation clarified that the visit is to consolidate the concept of the Arabic language among students belonging to the Master Degree. He said, "Our University is interested in the Arabic language, so we decided to visit King Khalid University, and take advantage of the huge potential, especially in the Arabic language."

He added, "During our visit, we are also looking forward to identifying the Southern dialects, popular tradition, in addition to the discovery of the buildings, and the popular games for the sons of the South".

It is noteworthy that the delegation, before leaving, visited the Literary Club in Abha, and the Asir National Museum, as well as the village of Muftaha, the Tuesday Market, and the village of Rijal Almae.

HE, President of King Khalid University, Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Dawood, welcomed a delegation from the Malaysian University of Malak. The visit aims to discuss ways of cooperation between the two universities in a number of educational and research areas, beside the exchange of experiences between the two universities.

On the delegation’s arrived, they went on a tour of the university, where they visited some colleges and a number of laboratories enlighten them on what the university is doing to serve the fields of research and studies, in addition to  support for practical, academic plans. The delegation was also briefed on the most prominent, latest scientific research.

In this regard, the University Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ahmed Taher Mubarak, confirmed that the university is seeking to enrich collaboration in scientific, academic, and research areas with a number of universities in the world in order to exchange knowledge and international expertise and benefit from scientific, research programs and activities offered by regional and international universities.

 The delegation was accompanied by the supervisor of the International Cooperation Department at King Khalid University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Nahari.

Yesterday, a delegation from Saudi Commission for Medical Specializations visited KKU to evaluate the training center in dental restoration and Endodontics section, Dentistry College, and to recognize it as a training center belonging to the Saudi Specialty Certificate Program.

Vice Dean of Educational and Academic Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al Hasoon  welcomed the delegation and expressed the university strong desire in cooperation with all sectors that provide services to the educational community.

The delegation was consist of: Scientific Council Chairman of Saudi Board in the dentistry specialization, Dr. Saud bin Mohammed Al Orfali, and a member of the Scientific Council of Saudi Board in dental restoration and Endodontics Dr. Abdulrahman bin Sulaiman Ghufeili, and Scientific Council Chairman of Saudi Board in dental restoration Dr. Reem Mohammed Al Dhalaan. 



Quality and Academic Development Deanship at King Khalid University did recently a visit to  the universities of King Saud and the Islamic University of Al Imam Mohammed Bin Saud in order to  strengthen bonds among the Saudi Universities and exchange experiences between Quality Deanship at King Khalid University and others in other Saudi Universities. The delegation of the deanship which included the Vice President of Quality Deanship, Dr.Merzan Alshahrani and the Vice President of Development Deanship, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Hagry visited Development Deanship at King Saud University to have a look on the steps of the strategic plan of the university and what Initiatives Unit is exerting to encourage students and the teaching staff to present creative and ideas and projects. Through the visit of Quality Deanship, the delegation realized current projects, one of the prominent projects is Electronic Quality Administration System in addition to King Saud university situation concerning programmatic and institutional accreditation internally and externally. Finally, they recognized the efforts of skills improvement deanship in the field of training teaching staff.

During the visit to the Islamic University of  Al Imam Mohammed Bin Saud, the delegation has a look on teaching staff training mechanisms at the Development Deanship which included preparing a team of trainers out of the teaching staff after having an intensive training course for a month in on of the Australian Universities. Also, they have a look on Quality Deanship efforts regarding academic accreditation and strategic planning.
