A considerable number of students of computer college of King Khalid University (KKU) has completed their professional training course. The training course was held for 7 weeks (210 training hours), in the summer, in Bank lore city, India, and it was presented for the students of computer sciences in the two departments - Computer Engineering and Communications and Networks Engineering.

The trainees, who were divided into two groups, were intensively trained on the immersed systems, wireless communications technology, and practical application. The trainees also had paid many field visits to a number of enterprises that are specialized in manufacturing and operation.

Regarding this matter, the Dean of College of Computer Sciences, Abdullah Ali Alrabaa, praised the training program, which has granted students distinctive skills and experiences that are necessary for them to apply what they have learnt. The Dean said, "I want to seize this chance to thank the President of King Khalid University, Prof Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, for his unwavering support. In addition, I would like to thank all the officials who are responsible for all the activities provided by the College of Computer Sciences; we all know that these activities take important part in increasing the students' efficiency and arming them with needed skills."

The Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education at King Khalid University (KKU) Dr. Mubark Saeed Hamdan discussed the ways of cooperation and partnership with the manager of training section in the General Directorate of Passports, major Abdurrahman Shaya Al Qahtani. The discussion includes providing a number of developmental and educational training courses in the area of ( Computer, English Language, and Management of Human Resources) for the directorate employees in order to improve their working skills.

The Dean explained that "this meeting is a part of the cooperation between the University and the Passport Department in many areas that benefit the community in general. The aim of the training courses is to develop the skills of Directorate staff in various fields, which will reflect positively on the services they provide to the public".

Furthermore, Dr. Hamdan noted that signing such partnerships with various governmental and private entities was one the University's social and cultural responsibilities, pointing to the University's concern to perform its role in serving the community, as part of its mission toward the society.

In turn, the manager of training section in General Directorate of Passports in Asir stressed on advantages of this cooperation which will reflect positively on the services provided by the staff of the Passports Department to the citizens and residents. Moreover, he valued the important role of the Community Service and Continuing Education Deanship of KKU in promoting effective partnerships with the various governmental and private entities to serve the community, stating further that, "this partnership comes within the guidance of the director of Asir Passports department, brigadier general Saad Rehil Al Sweidi. Consequently, the cooperation will benefit the department employees by improving their practical level, and will equip them with the necessary skills that will help them to do their jobs properly.

The Vice - Presidency for Development and Quality of King Khalid University held 4 training workshops which took place in Turkey, targeting the training of 80 members of the leadership and moderators of the university. The training courses included arts and driving laws in the 21st century, Approved Managed program CM, which was held twice, in addition to a course for the skills needed to prepare training plans.

These programs were selected according to what has been lifted from the faculty members of the Deanship, and from the staff to the Standing Committee for Administrative Development, which explained the needs of the university for such workshops. The program focused on mainly serving the employees and their interests, and providing them with the necessary information and skills, in order to be able to perform their duties well.

Against this background, the Vice - President for Development and Quality, Dr. Ahmed Yahya Al-Jbaili thanked His Excellency the University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood for his support and interest in the development of staff and employees through training at the university, and his precious resolutions to create an annual training plan for staff and employees to provide them with all necessary skills that will improve their abilities and prepare  them to acquire the skills they need to perform their duties. Al-Jbaili Said, "These training programs will be arranged annually, which proves the pursuit of the university to raise the level of the university staff (males and females) in all areas: administrative, technical, and financial, and provide all capabilities, knowledge and skills needed to help them perform all duties and tasks, and to take advantage of all what is new and useful, and to create an academic atmosphere whether through the diversity of the areas to benefit or diversity of sources such as international bodies.

The Library Affairs Deanship of King Khalid University in collaboration with the Saudi digital library and the publishers, is arranging a number of free remote e-training workshops. The workshops are expected to tackle many issues such as how to use databases and ways to search and retrieve sources of information, in addition to the e-downloading.

Earlier, the deanship has explained that all the University staff, who would like to join one of these courses must speed up registration by visiting the website of the Saudi Digital Library through the link of the training workshops (http://sdl.edu.sa/training) .

The Deanship also explained that after choosing the suitable training workshop, and finishing admission and registration procedures, the Saudi Digital Library will send the link of the selected training workshop to the trainer who picks that workshop before 24 hours of the start of the course.

The Vice-Presidency of Development and Quality of King Khalid University announced that it is going to launch soon several training courses for the employees of the university, including staff, and employees of all technical, administrative and financial categories. The move reflects the university's desire to provide everything that is necessary for the achievement of general progress in work.

Earlier, the Vice-President of Development and Quality, Dr. Ahmed Bin Yahya Al-Jbaili has reported that 'the university is seeking to raise the level of its staff, in all fields of work'. He said, "These selected training programs are based on the resolutions taken by the Standing Committee for Administrative Development. These resolutions have been selected according to the needs of the university and its employees in order to provide trainees with information, and the necessary skills to function effectively."

Al-Jbaili thanked the president of the University, Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Dawoud for his approval to create an annual training plan for employees, males and females, with focus on professional needs for the both the University and the employee.

King Khalid University, within the activities of the 2nd Summer Festival, which is arranged to be launched next Sunday, and holds for five days, organizes a number of training courses for men and women, young ages. The courses will be as follows:

First, training courses for men:

  • A course entitled "personal uniqueness is your way to success," presented by the trainer Mohammed Al-Ahdal, at the Central Stands, classroom No.6 in the University City, Al-Jrejer, on Sunday 08/17/1435.
  •  In addition to the course "The Art of Caricature and its role in Tackling Community Issues (1) ", presented by the Painter Abdullah Albargi, in the Fine Arts Gallery in the festival.
  • On Monday, the 18th of this month, there will a course entitled, "Graphology and Multiple Intelligences", presented by Dr. Mohammed Safran, at the headquarters of the training in the festival.
  • A Course "The Art of Caricature in Tackling Community Issues (2)", presented by the Painter Abdullah Albargi, in the Fine Arts Society in the Festival.
  • On Tuesday 19th  of the same month, there will be a course entitled "The Seven Habits of the Most Effective People", presented by Fayaa Asiri, at the headquarters of training.
  •  "Methods of mixing chromatography (1)", presented by the professor Moaidh Hajri, in the Fine Arts Society in the Festival.
  • Wednesday 20/8 will witness launching a course entitled "the Six Hats and Creative Thinking Skills", presented by Dr. Zafer Al-Hammad at the headquarters of training.
  • In addition to the course "Methods of mixing chromatography (2)", presented by the professor Moaidh Hajri, in the Fine Arts Society in the Festival.
  • In the last days of male courses, on Thursday 21/8, attendees will be present for an appointment with the course of "Life is Goal", presented by Musa Hamza, at the headquarters of the training.
  •  "The Art of Calligraphy", presented by the calligraphers Melfy Al-Shehri, Dr. Saif Al-Din Mohamed Morsi, in the Fine Arts Society in the Festival.

Regarding women courses:

  • On Sunday the 17th Shaban, a course entitled "Effective Communication Skills", presented by Mona Al-Ahmari.
  • A course "Contemporary Styles in Fine Painting (1)", presented by the Painter Iman Al-Qahtani.
  • On Monday, the 18th of the same month, a course "Problem-Solving and Decision-Making" by Dr. Lubna Al-Ajmi.
  • A course "Contemporary Styles in Fine Painting (2)", presented by the painter Iman Al-Qahtani.
  • On Tuesday, the 19th, A course entitled "Parenting Arts ", by the Trainer Halima Al-Ahmary.
  • On Wednesday, the 20th, a course of "Management of Feelings and Emotions", presented by the Trainer Tahani Al- Qahtani.
  • On Thursday, the last day of the women's courses, ther will be an appointment with the course of "Creative Arts to Deal with Children", by Mona Al-Qahtani.

It is noteworthy that all training courses for men and women will begin from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm
